Before you apply you must first have a Temporary SD Sales Tax License. If you have any questions, contact the Rally Department at 605-720-0800. The $600 cost covers the $425 vendor fee plus a $175 Sanitation fee. This fee is paid to the City of Sturgis -- they accept VISA, Mastercard, Cashier's Checks or Money Orders (no business or personal checks).

ACQUIRE SD TEMPORARY COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE PERMIT |

|
|
All out-of-state vendors at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally need this 30-day permit. Fees range from $9 to $240 and are based on gross vehicle weight of the motor vehicle and trailer.
In addition to collecting the 30-day license fee, they will check to make sure your load doesn't exceed your vehicle & trailer gross vehicle weight limits and that the driver has the appropriate type of drivers license for the load.
